From 16 February to 16 March 2013 you have the opportunity to pick your own Hanepoot grapes at Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar.
* Remember to bring your own basket and scissors.
* Grapes picked are charged at R5 per kg.
While you are at Jakkalsvlei enjoy the sweet grapes, taste some of the wines, order a cheese platter with figs & olives or bring your own picnic basket and spend the day. Relax in the beautiful surroundings of an unspoilt part of the Garden Route.

Karusa is a family operated and managed wine and fruit farm situated at the foothill of the majestic Swartberg in the tranquil and scenic Cango Valley settlement of Schoemanshoek. It is situated 12km north of Oudtshoorn wich is also the capital of the Klein Karoo region, and ostrich capital of the world.

Winery on route to the Cango Caves

The vineyards are grown at 550 m altitude on a direct south facing hillside on weathered colluvium soil. It is the only private winery on route to the world renowned Cango Caves.

Wine tasting at Karusa

The wine tasting facility at Karusa is an intimate and rustic styled room dating from the late 1800's that leads out to our wine garden - this gives our tasting facility a warm and inviting feel.

The private conference facility at Karusa near Oudtshoorn can host 30 people seated for private tastings or corporate meetings and workshops. We cater for small intimate weddings, private functions and year-end functions.
