This charming farm stall housed in an old farm house dating back to the 1920’s is a place where locals and visitors can buy handmade gifts and local fresh produce. Guests can relax and enjoy the country atmosphere with refreshments and light meals. Klipheuwel Padstal is also home to a real estate agency, needle work shop as well as crèche/ day care centre. The estate agency specializes in sales and rentals. The needle work shop in design, manufacturing, alterations and embroidery and sells basic habedashery. The crèche caterings for babies (5 months) to 5 year olds and also offers holiday programs.

Meade Café - Bistro in George

Meade Café is located in a renovated 18th Century townhouse in George in the Southern Cape, with tables in the conservatory or outside in the courtyard garden. A relaxed daytime Bistro with a lived-in French Countryside feel. Mother-and-son team, Isabel and Theo van Rooyen, respectively food fanatic and Chef-Patron, believe that their eatery creates a sense of community over a delicious plate of food, whether it be business people meeting at this unique location for work commitments or a social gathering of friends.

Restaurant Serving All Day Breakfast and Lunch in George

The Restaurant, Meade Café in George has a different, fresh approach to food. In true Bistro style new menue items using fresh, locally sourced produce is chalked on the blackboard. The menu with all-day breakfasts, sandwiches, seasonal meals and decadent desserts, is available throughout the day. Join us after 3pm in the afternoon when we start serving our summer Tapas style menu.

Coffee Shop in George

At Meade Café in George you can enjoy delectable signature cakes and speciality teas, Italian coffee and espresso that will fondle the taste buds. Since their opening Meade Café has become the preferred coffee shop in George for many of their patrons. Painstakingly Isabel and Theo restored the conservatory and the walled-in gardens and developed the Meeting Room and Playroom for little ones.

We are open Mondays to Fridays 07:30am to 17.30pm and Saturdays 9:00am to 13:00pm.
