Exiting news form the George Nursery



New owners at George Nursery


The Plantjie Kwekery well known by locals and visitors to George was bought by Frik and Elsa Combrink who officially took over on the 1st of September 2011. The new owners changed the name to George Nursery and are busy with exciting developments and expansions.

Retail and wholesale sections at George Nursery

The George Nursery will have three divisions - a retail, wholesale and a seedling wholesale section. A much larger stock will be available. The new shop will also stock a variety of garden equipment and accessories. A home industry section with freshly baked products and fresh vegetables will also open soon!

Church and Venue for Weddings and functions at the George nursery

Some of the new features at the George Nursery will include a lapa with braai facilities, an ideal venue for functions and wedding receptions. A small church will also be built which can be rented for weddings and other special services. The surround gardens will also under go big changes and will offer beautiful backgrounds for photo shoots.

New restaurant and tea garden at the George Nursery

The restaurant and tea garden at the George Nursery is currently closed for renovations to make an outing to the George Nursery even better for visitors. During the renovation period the Kruis Kerk from George will offer breakfast on Saturdays! Watch this space for information on the new tea garden and restaurant! The new restaurant will have a deck overlooking the children’s play area and dam allowing mom and dad to relax and enjoy a meal while the kids play in a safe environment.

More expansions at the George Nursery will included a guest house and self catering units as well as wooden decks with braai and picnic facilities on the banks of the Gwayang River!
